What problem are you trying to solve?
Kybella was first FDA-approved for the treatment of submental fullness (a double chin and excess upper neck fat). However, this safe, effective injectable can also be administered into other areas. For instance, Kybella can be injected into the outer thighs, upper and lower abdomen, and upper arms to eliminate excess fat and tighten loose skin.
You should expect your Kybella treatment results to last a lifetime. The human body can only grow fat cells for the first 25 years of life. Therefore, if you’re 25 or older, you will always have fewer fat cells in your chin and neck after treatment.
Most healthy adults who are concerned about excess neck or chin fat qualify for this treatment. That said, it’s not right for everyone. You need to come in for an initial consultation to determine whether this treatment is right for you, but you should qualify if you are not:
- Pregnant
- Breastfeeding
- Ill
- Experiencing skin irritation in the treatment area
You need to stop taking any blood-thinners for three days prior to your injection session. This includes such drugs and supplements as:
- NSAIDs
- MAOIs
- Fish oil supplements
- Vitamin E supplements
- Garlic supplements
It is also essential that you do not consume anything that will raise your blood pressure too high, like alcohol and products containing nicotine. Similarly, excessive consumption of salt and caffeine should be avoided. Finally, it is crucial that you avoid sunburn and other forms of skin irritation.
When you come in for your initial consultation, we’ll give you a list of everything you need to do to prepare for your treatment session. Fortunately, these instructions are simple and won’t interfere too much with your usual routine. Here’s a summary of what is expected from you:
- Drink at least eight cups of hydrating fluids daily in the days leading up to your treatment
- Drink at least two cups of hydrating fluids before coming in for your injection session
- Eat a nutritious, high-protein snack or small meal before coming in for your injection session
- Come in for your injection session with a clean chin and neck (no makeup, lotion, or other cosmetics)
Most clients achieve satisfactory results after just one to three treatments. However, you may need up to six injection sessions spaced roughly one month apart to achieve your desired profile.
Since we use a 1/2″ needle to administer Kybella treatment, you will not experience any pain. With that being said, you will feel a slight pressure as we inject the deoxycholic acid into the treatment area. If you don’t like the thought of being able to feel the needle, let us know during your initial consultation. We will happily apply a topical anesthetic to keep you numb throughout the injection process.
– Tap the syringe gently to remove any air bubbles to get the most accurate measurements.
– Clean the injection site, directed by physician, and hold the syringe at a 90 degree angle.
– With the other hand, pinch the skin at the injection sight.
– After the syringe goes in, remove your hand from the pinched area, make sure the needle stays in while you slowly push the plunger all
the way down.
– Pull out the syringe at the same angle as injected.
– Use a piece of gauze to rub on the injection site for 30 seconds. Bleeding may occur.
Your insulin syringes are measured in units. If instructions on peptide are written in mL instead of units, move the decimal place two places to the right for unit measurement. Feel free to call your physician for further explanation.
Some peptides have a shorter shelf life than others. Therefore, to insure your safety and health please refer to the “discard after” date at the bottom middle of the label on your prescription bottle.
Peptides can be left off of ice for up to 7 days and still be viable. When you receive your package, please refrigerate upon arrival before usage.
Immediately following treatment, you may experience some additional redness, depending on your customized treatment settings. The redness will usually fade away within a day or two. In most cases, makeup may be immediately applied, and daily activities can be resumed the very same day. You will be asked by your Physician to stay out from the sun for a few days following the treatment and to apply sun screen till the next planned session.
For both the IPL/ Resurfx, to ensure maximum comfort, your physician should apply cold coupling gel on the treatment area. Depending on your specific condition, you can expect the session to last 15-30 minutes. You may experience a warm sensation as the light is applied to the skin, but the treatment is gentle and should not feel uncomfortable.
The technology behind Stellar M22™ IPL
The IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology allows treatment of Rosacea symptoms like flushing, redness and visible blood vessels, as well as improving the overall appearance of your skin. Stellar M22™ IPL with Optimal Pulse Technology (OPT™) enables your clinician to customize the treatment according to your skin type, condition severity, and desired results, with maximum safety. Light pulses penetrate the tissue and create heat inside the blood vessels, which closes the vessels’ walls, eventually causes them to disappear.
ResurFX™ technology
The ResurFX™ fractional laser is a state-of-the-art, non-ablative, skin resurfacing technology. ResurFX™ fractional laser stimulates the production of new collagen and elastic fibers in the deeper layers of the skin. Stimulating new collagen production is the key to a more radiant, youthful looking skin.
The ResurFX™ technology enables your physician to achieve excellent clinical results over a sequence of treatments while keeping your comfort maximal and downtime minimal.
Side effects are very rare. 3% of patients experienced eyelid drooping in frown lines studies and 1% of patients experienced eyelid swelling in crow’s feet studies. Other possible side effects include: dry mouth; discomfort or pain at the injection site; tiredness; headache; neck pain; eye problems: double vision, blurred vision, decreased eyesight and dry eyes; and allergic reactions. Ask your skincare professional for more information about side effects or any other concerns you may have about the procedure.
Treatment is often described as feeling like a pinch. Ice may be used to numb the treatment area before the procedure is performed. If you are concerned about discomfort, a topical numbing cream may be applied before the procedure.
Some patients only require a single treatment once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 3-4 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.
Patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results can continue to improve up to 6 months after a treatment as collagen production continues.
The procedure takes 30-45 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.
Microneedling can be used on all parts of the body, including the: face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.
Micro-needling can significantly reduce and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks
Treatment can only be administered by a KYBELLA®-trained healthcare specialist. At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin, and the injection process takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have under your chin and your desired profile.
